Where I stayed
Fulda Camp Kassel
We had the biggest sleep in so far on the honeymoon. We were last at breakfast, I thought she was going to pack it up as we walked in phew, we just got our cheese and few early slices of salami to start the day off. We made our way into the city centre and had a look around and took some pictures with the new camera and enjoyed the sunny city, how much nicer it was than in the rain, but with the sunshine there was also many more people. Shane had another Bamberger Bratwurst, he went for the 2euro double bratwurst deal. Very nice.
As we were driving north through Germany, Shane was not feeling well so we stopped at a service station so he could have a rest on the grass. We decide to drive another 20km and camp the night in a random town – Kassel
We stopped in Kassel the night at the Fulda Camp Kassel. A nice spot on the river bank not too many people. Great showers, own cubicle with basin and a good size shower with proper tap (for the women apparently Shane's were not great). When I asked about internet or wifi access, I got a lecture about how "this is not possible in Germany" when I enquired further he explained that if I file share or download something illegally he will get in trouble? I don’t know what he is talking about?! He did not believe me that other camping grounds in Germany have Wifi access. We relaxed by the river for the afternoon, went and found some steak and vegies for dinner. We got told again today that we needed a German visa card at the supermarket, Visa is not visa in this country, look on my face when he asked for another visa, a proper visa = priceless! We and had a walk around the lakes near the camping ground and had an early alcohol free night, the first for a while I’m sure our livers were happy!
