Marvin: Well, folks, due to lack of an internet access point, this is the last post. As you can see, we made it back home, safe and mostly sound. Here's a recap...
After leaving Jackson, we headed due south, through the forest fires of southern wyoming. OK, well, we did did not actually drive through the forest fires all eviel kinievel (sp?) but the air was thick with what turned out to be smoke. After driving through the aptly named Flaming Gorge (it was HOT), we made our way into Utah. The northeast corner of Utah shares Dinosaur National Monument with Colorado. So we camped out in Utah that night, and the next morning went for a bit of a hike, saw some dino bones, a bunch of lizards, and jack rabbits. From there it was making our way east, over mountains to Rocky Mountain National Park. Camped there for the night. I had hoped my feet would be much recovered, at least to get on a pair of shoes, but that was not to be. Thus it was flip-flops for me the rest of the way. Tuesday morning, we awoke through the night to sounds of wolves howling. well, Mallory did, I must have been sleeping on my good ear! Anyways, she did not get much sleep, I however, slept like a baby. A big, fat, tired, half deaf baby.
Alright, after we drove along RMNP, we headed south. as luck would have it, my parents were in CO, so we met them at my aunt's, where ms. mallory received a birthday dinner of filet minon and extras. We tooled around there for the evening, and in the morning, we headed east. 15.5 hours later it was "Indiana, our Indiana." there is little to report... Kansas is still flat. Mallory read ALL of the new Harry Potter book from the time we left CO to the time we managed to get outside Kansas City. AT least she did not miss much! Anyway, I posted a couple more pics. enjoy and thanks for reading! More thumbnails ...
