Saturday 26/09/09
After choosing Bangkok over Pattaya, Orla and I arrived ion Bangkok after the longest day of travel yet.  We had a 2 hour bus to Kohrat then a further 6 hours to Bangkok.  The problems started then as the Northern Bus Terminal is a stupid freakin maze.  It is also too far out to be considered in Bangkok.  It took us nearly 45mins to find the stupid bus to Khoa San Road.....yes we're staying there again.  However our luck turned when the bus cost us only 10 Baht into Bangkok.  But then we got a reality check as New Joe's was fully booked.  We had to chose another place so just went up the lane and found 7 Holder.  It is a Japanese run hotel that has prison cell sized rooms...no window and all...and shared bathrooms.

Our first night we went and watched Man Utd...Orla loved that.  Then walked up Khoa San Road and did bit of shopping before having a few drinks, which obviously turned into 2 of us watching 3 girls from Israel getting their hair braided.  good fun and then bed at 6am.

Sunday 27/09/09
Big sleep followed our early morning drinking session.  We had planned nothing for that day so we just went shopping.  It was raining pretty heavily and we were extremely hungover so we had no choice but to stay in.  It was the worst rain we'd seen in a while in Thailand.  So internet cafe and bed was all in order.  But fefore that i had myself tailored for a suit.  I decided i should spend my money a little more sensible than booze!!!

Monday 28/09/09
Stuff had to be done today so we were up nice and early.  We got ourselves nicely caught up in a tuk-tuk scam straight away though...but we came out in the end.  The driver took us around Bangkok to see the Standing Buddha and Lucky Golden Buddha.  The scam then took affect when he said he had to bring us to a Bangkok Suit Factory for a fuel voucher if we went in.  Factory me hole!!!! it was just a simple little shop where we met the sleaziest dealer ever so legged it.  He then took us to the Democracy Monument where we bailed on him only paying him 20 Baht in the process.

We headed back to the guesthouse and got ready or our night ahaed as we were heading to the Bangkok Film Festival.  We went to Jim Thompsons House first which was nearby.  He was a famous Amerian explorer who lived in Bangkok and went missing in Malaysia and was never found.  The place was massive and really nice. We had a guided tour of the various rooms and collections he amassed.  The film festival was on nearby so we went to see 9 (Nine).  An animated movie produced by Tim Burton (ya'll know him) and Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, NIghtwatch).  It was very good and being at the festival was pretty cool too.  Afterward we headed back and met the lads on their return from Patttaya...we heard tale of their trip and had a few jars before leaba.

Our final full day in Thailand!!!  Cant believe it is here already (although i know how long it took me to blog about it!!!)  I had to buy some pressies...but not alot as i was fairly smashed.  I posted the pressies and stuff home but only realised afterwards that Buddha was not allowed to travel to Ireland in a little box!!  and of course Shaky had 4 little Buddhas on the trip!  Fingers crossed.  I then went and collected my suit.  It turned out very nice and for €70 was a steal.  It is very light which is handy for my days in the heat of Australia.  Just hope to get to wear it once or twice before coming home.  We also bought our Axe pillows. Triangle pillows that are the most comfortable in the world.

The rest of the day was spent chilling out as we had little money left.  We bumped into people we had met in Krabi who had run out of money so were flying back to the UK 4 months earlier.  Sucks to be them...hope that doesnt happen to us in Australia.

Wednesday 30/09/09
Well here it is...our day started with a taxi ride to the airport at 9am.  We caught our flight to Singapore without any hassle but that changed in Singapore.  We spent our 4 hour wait looking for gadgets to spend our money on and found them quick enough.  Pa bouth a sweet ass fancy camera which i will refer too in a while so remember it.  Myself and Orla bought fancy pants phones which cost a small fortune but Mr Visa paid for them so wwaaayyy!!!  I got a HTC and Orla a new Nokia.

The hassle began when i tried to check in for my flight to Perth.  When my passport was scanned it flashed that I had no Australian Visa...PANIC STATIONS!!!  Althought this happened a few people and we stepped aside and 1 by 1 they were let through as the problem was resolved...except Shaky!!!.  The lady sent an email to Australian people requesting my visa info and if i had one...there was a 10 minute delay and this was awful...i was freaked the fuck out as you can imagine...but all was ok and i boarded the flight shaking but on me way.

When we arrived in Perth we had only one bit of hassle...the Axe pillows had to be sprayed as they came from Thailand.  This would take a month so we got it sorted and carried on.  WE decided to spend our first night in Perth in the airport as we had nowhere booked until the following day and it was 1am anyways.

So, the fancy camera...Pa had a look on the plane...taking it apart and such....but decided to leave some boxes on board and take some with him, lightening the load.  But when we arrived in Perth and he went to play with it...the charger was missing and all he had was an empty box...hahaha...sorry not that funny really...but cause its Pa...hahahaha!!

So there ends the Thailand blog.  I will start one just for the photos and one for Australia.  Bear with me as i am slow...well cause im doin stuff to fill this bloody thing.  Hope you enjoed reading it and keep coming back...more often than I do.

As for Thailand.....fookin love it!!!!!
