After our time in Lambertville and Princeton NJ, we drove on down to Philadelphia.  Why add it on?  We wanted to visit Jay, we were nearby anyway with the NJ trip, AND we had signed up to volunteer together for an interfaith Day of Dignity event.  So off to Philly!

We spent some time doing our "100 Questions to Ask before You Get Engaged" book in the car.  Led to some fruitful discussions.  Before we knew it, we were in Philly, stopping at a Whole Foods to bring Jay some cookies.

We ran into a college friend of mine and her husband, which was unexpected.  Picked up some beer, headed to Jay's.  We were all pretty tired so we ate cookies, drank beer, and watched some creepy movie featuring Nicole Kidman.

On Sunday we woke up and went to go volunteer at the Unitarian Universalist church for Day of Dignity.  It was an event, coordinated by a Muslim group, where people of all faiths came together to help give us food/clothes/toiletries to people who needed them.  We spent a good deal of time simply waiting around (as it customary at BIG volunteer events), then we did our thing at the Bedsheet station.

Afterward, we had some coffee and gelato downtown.  Sped off to the Rodin museum and saw some sculptures.  Went to South Street where we got some very important, very tasty chocolate chip cookies from the 4th Street Deli.  Went to an Indian buffet in a college-y part of town and stuffed ourselves.  YUM!

We thought the adventures were over after we dropped off our rental car, but nope!  Shaan accidentally left his cell phone in the rental car.  The rental car was en route to New Jersey when we realized it (ironic).  We waited on the couches of Enterprise for a looooooong time until the kind man returned with Shaan's phone.  To amuse ourselves, Shaan drew a man's face on my bellybutton and we took silly videos of him being "very mad at you, right now."
