Well, we finally made it out of the San Francisco bay!! Some of you probably understand what a vortex that place is and how easily a person can get sucked in, visiting with the intention of staying a few days and ending up there for weeks, or months, or even forever. forever ever-ever?
there is just so darn much going on there and so many interesting, hip people. Driving from place to place in the bay absolutely sucks. the traffic is awful, and you have to pay to get into SF from anywhere else basically unless you go really far south and travel up the peninsula. there is pretty good public transport though, we just didn't take advantage of it because we prefer to burn as much fossil fuels as possible. ..lets just get this shit over with already - the sooner we kill the earth the sooner we can move to bigger and better things, like colonizing space!
thanks to all of our friends and hosts in the bay area. we miss you guys!!!!! you are amazing and beautiful!
anyways, we managed to get ourselves out of the bay and into butt fucked nowhere, merced.
this town kinds reminds us of home. its small, there are lots of farmers, theres not much to do,
and its cold.
we went on a almond farm tour, or as the almond farmers call them
Amens!!. Cuz when the hit the ground it knocks the "L" outta them.
We got to ride on an ATV and check out all the farm equipment like the machine that shakes the almonds out of the tree and the machine that rakes the almonds into piles and the one that picks them up. we got to see a warehouse full of sweet potatoes of diverse varieties. we got to get in a cherry picker and go high up in the sky. what an educational adventure.
then we toured the Hilmar cheese factory, which claims to be the largest cheese producing factory in the world, but then why did the "tour" suck so bad. it sucked SO bad we justified eating ALL of the cheese samples. we accidentally drove an hour to get to the shitty tour because some guys told us it was real close and also that Hilmar produces all of the cheese for all taco bells everywhere! we just HAD to see it. a word of advice from someone experienced, don't waste your time. the website said we could see them loading 640 lb blocks of cheese and all we wanted in the whole world was to see this much cheese at once, but it looked like they were doing repairs in the factory when we got there. no cheese in sight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
we love cheese!!
we crashed the karaoke bar last night with like 20 of our best friends. we pretty much made that party. the song selection was great. thanks for the fun time kewl cats!
