JOurney from Mazatlan to guadalajara
well long story............
so, we ran out of gas last night like 4 times in a row
tenemos no mas gasolina. ayuda!
...but luckily we had the contact info of a kind couchsurfing host in guadalajara so when we got into town at 2 am and called him thinking it was 11 we finally got some rest in a the most beautiful eco village to behold. also luckily for us there are some nice, brave people in mexico willing to stop and help random van load of people on the side of the road after dark and dirve them to the gasolineria and back. in mexico, people families stop for pepole unlike the united states. we had a couple stop and help and a family with kids as well. both gave me a ride to the gas station. so be nice and be brave because it could be someone like us that really needs help and if not, well thats just a chance your going to have to take, pussy.

the story goes like this...
we were flying down the freeway at our normal pace of 85. we knew we were getting low on gas but there is typically a pemex station every hour or so so we weren´t too worried. well mostly, the driver was, but we ignored her fear telling her we have plenty of gas. not that it mattered cuz we didnt ever see a station. the tank got lower and lower as we watched and then finally it slowed to a hault at dusk on a windy road in the middle of nowhere. we had 1 gallon of gas in a can so we put it in and limped along for about 20 km then stopped again, on a hill.

we made an ayuda sign and held out the gas can and a nice family with a son and daughter who was celebrating her quincianera...what a fun party for her. there was only room for one so raina went and brought back gas. we filled the tank but the van still wouldnt start because while raina was gone we ran out the battery by playing game boy in the light. and we let the family go cuz there was nothing they could do cuz their car had a wierd battery.
 it was dark by then.
then we had a flashlight and finally a truck of guys stopped and jumpstarted our van then we left and made it about another 20 km and ran out again, still dark. still fucked up. so we used our flashlight and ayuda sign again and a nice couple that spoke some english pulled over to help. they drove raina and savannah to the toll booth where the guys with guns help people and they sold us some gas in fact they drove it out to us and offered to tow us for free if the car wouldnt start still.
it did so we paid and left and made it another 20 or so km before our van stopped again but luckily this time it stopped right as we rolled through a toll booth good thing cuz raina was tired of riding with strangers at night and attempting to speak spanish on the way to the stations. we bought some more gas from them. we got a good deal then we limped into tepic, just in the nick of time. then on our way out of tepic we got stuck in an hour long traffic stop cuz someone died by crashing into a semi who was probably stopped in the road.
i called our couchsurf host like 2 times but couldnt hear shit on the freeway payphone cuz all the trucks are so so loud i got stressed out and hung up on him. luckily hes nice and when we finally called him when we got ot mazatlan at 2 am he came to meet us. unfortunately we got lost again but i nice man at a casino let me use his cellphone and i called him and he met us there instead. so we finally made it to the most beauful place in the whole world which is another blog story check it out.
