One full loop round the world

Well we finally made it back to the States on a stopover, one full loop around the world! But we aren't quite done yet though. The Dominican Republic is next on our list, but there was no direct flight from Fiji! We couldn't even fly to the DR in one day so we had to break up our journey and take a stop in LA.
We're not so hot for LA, but the great thing about going there this time is our friend, Shari (yes, there is another one of us), was working in the area and we would be hanging out with her for a night... not to mention crashing her hotel room!
We did quite a bit of shopping to stock up on some supplies. You would think it's fairly easy to find stuff in Australia and New Zealand like contact supplies and shoes, but they can be really pricey! Frank was looking for a pair of replacement Keen shoes and they cost NZ$230 ($180 US) and he was able to pick it up from REI in LA for $99! So he was really happy to get a new pair, he was wearing his old ones with a plastic knife in it for support! I was very happy to find my brand of contact solution and dairy digestive pills (you won't believe how hard it is to find those, and at a reasonable price). We also had some great pizza at California Pizza Kitchen. It was great catching up with a good friend over food and shopping after being away from home for so long.
Thanks Shari for all your help, and for taking the box of our crap back for us-BTW, let us know if that Fiji Rum is any good..?
