Being geeky LOR fans, we decided to check out Deer Park Heights, an enormous hill 20 minutes away from Queenstown . The hill is privately owned and seems to be mainly used as an animal farm. The park brochure mainly had information on feeding goats, sheep, donkeys, etc. We bypassed all of the animal farm stuff and instead went straight to the top of the hill, which was essentially huge rocky areas used for several LOR scenes. There were 7 sites marked with signs at the top of the hill. The pics have descriptions for the LOR scenes that were filmed at those locations. We can't wait to watch the movies again and see if we can match up the
scenes with what we saw on the hill!
