We are now back in La Grave to do LOTS of laundry, catch up on email/blogs, pack up all of our winter stuff, and get our bike touring gear ready. Seth has now tuned up both bikes and we are keeping an eye on the weather. Currently it looks as if a low pressure system is coming through France and should be at its worst on Thursday, so potentially a Friday departure. Our first destination on the bikes? Corsica!!
After a much needed good night's sleep in Interlaken (and eating a bunch of pizza), we headed back to France. We decided to break the drive up and stop in Chatel on our way back to La Grave. Chatel is a French ski resort literally on the French/Swiss border, on the south side of Lake Geneva. Our friends at home, the Sherensky's, have a little apartment there. This is where I spent my first month ever in France back in August 2000, when I crashed Jill and Cedar's last month of their 9 month honeymoon. I remember vividly how peaceful and relaxing Chatel was, therefore really wanted Seth to see it, as well as give us another nice day of recovery time. We made a fantastic dinner, had another great night's sleep, and lounged around the next day before driving back to La Grave.
