In two weeks my life will be completely changed. It still seems surreal that I will soon be living the Domican Republic amongst the poor. Dirt roads, out-houses, no running water, no electricity 50% of the time, what have I gotten myself into?!? It's hard to believe that in less than a month I will be living in these conditions, especially since I'm currently hanging around in a big luxurious 2 story house in a suburban town in California. With all my worries, I am ready to embark on this crazy journey I'm about to begin. Hopefully I will learn a lot about what it's like to be a member of a "developing country", and to understand why the DR and so many other countries in the world are unable to become "rich and successful" such as the United States and other western countries.
On another note, I'm providing you all with my mailing address that I will have for my first three months in the DR. That way you can send me lots of goodies and letters, since I'm sure I won't be able to access the Internet, that frequently.
