Finally our budget actually gets us a huge room, wooden floors and a balcony, a lot more than the concrete boxes on the islands! Phuket town was really surprising, nice old Chinese town centre, cheap food and really friendly people. We stayed here a few days and visited a couple of beaches nearby, enjoying our last Masaman and Panang curries, our staple food in Thailand. What can you say about Patong beach, we just don't see the attraction of girlie bars, Indian tailors hassling you, millions of stalls all selling the same tshirts and souvenirs and expensive restaurants. Especially when its an hour on the boat to Phi Phi. So we're leaving Phuket now, on to Malaysia.
