Khao Yai National Park must be one of the easiest places to see so much wildlife! We saw gibbons within 10 minutes of arriving in the park and loads of different species of hornbill. Our guide (the owner of the guesthouse/tour operator) was obsessed with hornbills. He'd slam on the brakes of the truck whenever he heard or saw anything move in the forest. He must have taken hundreds of photos, even though he does this everyday. Really nice to have an enthusiastic guide for a change! The highlight was seeing a male hornbill feeding his pregnant ' wife' in her nest in the tree. He could put the camera up next to his telescope so we got some good shots. The park is really well developed, maybe a bit too much but then you get guaranteed sightings of gibbons, hornbills, elephants, deer, lizards, monkeys and other bright coloured birds plus a swim under a waterfall! Now its time to hit the reason everyone comes to Thailand, the islands!
