Just spent four would be idyllic days on a bounty island, that is if Clare hadn't got sunburn on the first day and spent the rest of the time trying unsuccesfully to hide from the sun. It was still fantastic of course, beautiful beach and plenty of laid back restaurants/bars with fresh seafood barbeques, cold beers and of course, a view to die for (see photos). We spent most of the time between the beach, bar and motorbike we hired one day to tour the island. Some scary hairpin bends but with Clare's fantastic back seat driving, Serge managed to keep us on the road (just one incident we won't mention!)
Referring to the title, there were quite a few elderly western males on the island entertaining their thai girlfriends, Serge was queuing for the barbeque when one particularly charming Geordie surrounded by his three thai female friends remarked 'It's time to feed the monkeys, its costing me a fortune, but never mind'. Charming example of Brits abroad, luckily not everyone was like that Bang Bao view, Ko Chang

After a ridiculous bus journey back to Bangkok (no more tourist buses for us, just sitting ducks for all the scams) we're off tomorrow to try to find our own way to the Cambodian border so our next update may be in a few days' time, depending on internet connections there.
For anyone interested, I just found out I passed all the Dutch staatsexamens so hopefully I won't forget too much of it before I'm back in Holland (just re-read this, and hope you all realised this is Clare, not Serge!)
