So Last night we had our last 8 hours of our 36 hour bus marathon, just living in buses, bus stations and random stops in the middle of know where.
The bus ride was crazy it was raining so hard you couldnt see outside, the driver was, well your average insain latino driver.
Arrival at 5am
Some how depsite it all we managed to arrive ON time! at 5 am, Then things got really strange, A guy i met in guayaqui was telling me about how he had gotten robbed in guayaqui and so he was just wanting to get the heck out of there (as well we seen on the tv theres a lot of protests going on so i think it was a good call to blow through it)
So anyways in a really rushed call we decide to go with this guy to this hostel he swears is good (latino good means cheapest in the city)
The cabbie drops us off coz theres a pedestrian only street, and then things get really twisted, as we are following this guy to where he swears theres a hostel (this is all going against my instinct and better judgment being a control freak and all)
As we are walking some guy comes runing out of know where saying You speak english you speak english, We looked at him and said no in spanish and walked away, shane followed our lead and kept quite, then we kepted going towards where he swore the hostel was, i was getting tense at this point cos i noticed that the other guy was still following us, then as bad luck would have it there was 4 drunk guys sitting outside the hostel we were planing at saying at the latino guy starts buzzing the door bell in a panic, as the guys stand up and start talking to us in some messed up mix of spanish and english, nothing to hostile nothing to friendly, as things turn out the other guy was with them, Then one guy stands up and starts getting a lil agressive with the latin guy with us and he keeps buzzing the door entry, i got nerves and slowly got my swiss army knife out of my backpack in my hand, gotta be prepared right?
Then a girl who was with the group got up and pushed the guy away and we got buzzed in
Nothing bad happend, i think half was just lack of better judgment after 36 hours of bus rides and no good sleep, and the latino guy having been robed in guayaqui had nothing but fear in his eyes, which i think the other guys preyed upon.
Apart from that i dont think we will stay in ecuador long, its really beautiful but we have a long ways to go for shane to catch his flight outa cancun june second.
Stay maybe one more night then off to cali colombia.
Quito is a very beautiful and modern city, it keeps surprising me how modern and and such these cities are.
The people on average are lighter skined and skinnier :P then the rest of the andean nations at least in this city, the girls are really attrative, kinda a shame i dont have time to stick around and meet one, lucky cali has a rep for amazing woman :D
oh also an observation this is the first time since uruguay pretty much that i´ve seen a fair amount of people of african decent.
Well thats all chances are my next update will be from Colombia!

Weird!
I wonder what that was all about, but I'm glad you're safe and sound! You seem to have some good instincts about you.
