I´m thinking about buying some chainmail underwear here in peru.
Coz everyone keeps trying to F$·K me.
Anyways so i just arrived in ariquipa and well after having falling for a few scams the past 2 days in puno, just a buck or two from some overly friendly overly helpful fellows i´ve started to get a lil annoyed with it, and have become more picky with who i trust or listen too...

First the bus ride.
I payed 5 soles more on the promise i had the most comftrable bus, with a working toilet, and direct service.
The bus was so cramed there was kids sleeping in the isle, And those children that were not sleeping were crying the whole bus ride.

Peru Bus TV
But those kids had some compition aparently here in peru instead of On bus TV the just let some crazy religious fanatic on the bus who goes on a 2 hour speal about how for 5 soles he´ll cleans your soul and how we need to repent now.

Bathrooms.
The first 4 hours of the bus ride the bathroom didnt work, Then when it did finnally work we were working our way around switchbacks in the mountains, So try and piss as the bus is weaving all over the road, Good fun.

Taxis
So i had found a hostel that sounded nice from hostel world called bothy hostel.
The fun part was trying to get there, I asked about 4 taxis who all either told me rediculous prices for the cab fair (on a peruvian scale not canadian scale)
Or the told me some crazy stories about how the street is not there anymore or the hostel is closed down, or he can only take me to with in 5 blocks of the hostel, then i have to walk, then its 1 block of the hostel, You name it i got told it today.
As well half the taxis looked shaddy as shit, So finnaly i caught a cab droping off a old lady at the bus terminal figured if he didnt kill her i should be in good shape.
Admititly i´d been a lil rattled by all the scams, not to mention the slums on the outskirts of town ironicly named ¨ciudad de dios¨ city of god, looked about as welcoming as the one from the brazilian movie.
So the whole cab ride i was a lil on end, watching to make sure he didnt take me to any abandonded streets or anything, honestly this is the first time in my whole trip i´ve felt so uncomftrable, Maybe i had just gotten really used to traveling with people and just being alone had tripped me out a bit.

anyways i have arrived in bothy hostel right to the door step turns out it was still right where hostel world said it was, and there was a road right up to the door, Crazy eh?
The city looks really interesting, i cant say i´ve been anywhere like it, The most surpirsing thing for me is theres no tall buildings and its all REALLY old and out of stone.

trip to Peru
So here is another cheap gringo traveling to Peru and expecting a taxi ride for 75 cents of a dollar because 4 dollars is way too much, a bus ride ( I bet he took the chichen bus and expect first class ) Cruz del sur, ormeno, etc. are bus companies that have standars superior to the US ( we only have greyhound here remember)
You are the kind of tourist that I hope don't go to south America because love to complaint and expect to have a blast with 100 per country.
No thanks please stay in Canada and next time you take a taxi and pay 35 dollars for a ride remember you could have take a limo for that money in Peru.

Its about the principle
Its about the principle, And the lack of honesty and integrity of the people who worked in this industry.

Its not the price so much as the deception.
In the rest of the world when someone tells you 5 dollars then you except that to be the price
