new years eve
New years eve actually ended up being A LOT of fun, way more then i had expected, i had kept my expectations low...
New years day was pretty chill i slept in then worked on my tan, Killing time my cousins where closing there farmacias at 8pm, and having a year end party at the farmacia champagne and some snacks was good fun, while at the farmacia i met one of there employees who invited me out to the party at the golf club (this place seems to be the place where everything cool that happens in paysandu it happens here and no there is no golf at the golf club)
Anyways After the party at the farmacia we bought some big ass fireworks and headed to another cousins house the sister of the cousin i was staying at
New years in uruguay is a lot like christmas, The family gets together has some drink and the customery late dinner then at midnight everyone goes outside and blastes off there small cache of fireworks, No pune intended but its A BLAST, ITs really a lot of fun.
Then around 2-3 in the morning all the younger kids go dancing So taking advantage of the invitation of the employee of the farmacia, he text me around 2:30 and i was off dancing, He intruduced me to his friends one of which was a isreali who spoke perfect english, but actually by this point in my trip, Unless im talking poltics A translator is not nessary anymore.
Apart from when i want to buy something, my brain always seems to stop working and i forget my vocabulary when i hit a bus terminal, and i always resort to the good old fashioned pointing and grunting technic.
I really had a great time I danced until 7 am, bumped into some girls i had met at my cousins b-day party 2 days early, Just a really great way to start what hopefully will be a great year, I was expecting to just call it a early night and try not to think about it being new years, but being invited out by a great group of people and such, Just really a great time
New years day i nursed what a bit of a hang over, not sure if it was from the alcohol lack of sleep or dancing my ass off.
IN the past week i´ve gone out partying and dancing until the sun came up 3 times, and the other 4 days in the week i still partied and had a great time just never went out dancing. I was exhuasted. But as they say its better to be tired and have had a great time then be well rested and stayed home :D
