well prepare yourself for yet another really tam, and mostly boring e'mail, i´m only updating this because i have some time to kill...
So heres the scoop i am in paysandu uruguay visiting family however this is how life works down here if your young, You leave to the capital city montevideo... Get a education.
Then if your really motivated you take that new education of yours and leave to spain or the states never looking back, sadly this is the fact of life here, or what is known as the brain drain.
So when people ask why some of these developing nations have so much difficulty getting there stuff together well this is why, all the best and brighest are seduced by the american dream of the first world and all its promises (understandably so)
So now getting back to it, because of this almost all of my young cousins i met 2 years ago when i first visited are now living in montevideo, and some in spain etc..
Which makes my visit here a lil boring because most of the relatives are older and we lack common ground, but i want to make the effort to visit them because i know it means a lot to them.
I have not been sleeping well, But that is not anything new for me i supose, i can not decide what my next move is all i know is that i need to make a move in the coming weeks.
Choice one
Stay in montevideo for the summer, find a place to rent study spanish.
Pro,
Already know the area, have estabished friends.
Con,
I have already seen the city know it well.
Choice two
Goto brazil travel find and visit my friends who have extended open invitations
Pro
New country New culture new food new new new, Plus old friends
This is a country i am planing to visit while in latin america, as well the friends i am planing to visit eventually too either now or later.
Con
Don´t speak a lick of the local langauge (although thats never stoped me before)
not to sure of where i am going to meet them or how to contact them
heard brazil is a lil dangerious, although this has never stoped me before and i´ve always found it mostly to be media hype and never as bad as people say, Regardless having grown up in a propaganda world the unkown still is a lil worrisome to me, especially since i´d be going up on my own and hopin to find my friends on the other end lol
Choice 3
Recently seen a post on couch surfing of some people heading down to patagonia region early december to explorer down there and then not sure. Travel more of argentina or return to uruguay visit everyone and such.
Pro
Well i really want to see that region
Con
Not knowing my maybe future travel companions, well definatly would leave me with a story to tell, but i really hate traveling with people who have differnt travel philosphy then myself.
Ok so those are the RIGHT NOW things on my mind.
I´ve also decided more or less (things always can change in a blink of the eye)
My end goal will maybe be to work my way up slowly by land visiting all the countries i can at my lesure, and returning to canada via land travel (eventually i will need a new passport as i am slowly runing short on pages...)
The main thing about that is that my friend shane may be coming to latin america in april... and wanting to travel a portion of that adventure with me, So i´d figure out what i want to do for the summer here until he comes.
BUT the travel bug bites hard hehe and i´m not sure if i can stand still that long.
So these are my thought going through my mind, Ironicly the burrdon of To many choices, Defiantly good problems but none the less still manage to keep me up at night.
