So i´ve come to realise one of the things that defines a central america trip is the bus rides, however crazy amazing and scenic they may be.
Todays bus ride.
well being in costa rica i over estimated the amount of infestructure and the quality of roads away from the gringo trail.
my 4 hour bus ride started out super packed standing room only in a hot stuff chicken bus on a punshing dirt road full of pot holes crosing several I gues you´d call them bridges they were more like planks just spread enough for the bus to fit on nothing more.
After the first hour though the roads improved the bus emptied and the next 3 hours were followed by spectacular mountain jungle scenery we even traveled so high we were driving the clouds or at very least a thick mist.
I arrived in san isidro dirty smelly and lacking clean clothing and unfortuantly to late in the day to get some laundry service before my bus ride leaving tomorrow at 10 30 am.
So i found a decent hotel pulled out my few remaining unmatching clothes clean clothes i had left had a shower and hit out to explore the town.
Town
Towns pretty cool its not so full of gringos as its fairly remote and most people just blow through from san jose streight to panama city but since i had some time i figured i´d break up the trip a bit and ccheck out some of the lil towns in the area.
Being less touristy prices have droped... Internet yesterday was 2 dollars a hour now its 50 cents an hour for a better connection.
So i been checking the weather forcasts for my upcoming destinations and it all seems to say rain rain rain everywhere, but i wonder is it constant rain like i experianced in la fortuna or just the odd showers through out the day....
So i will push forward trying to pack in as much as i can in my last 10 days before heading to san jose costa rica for my flight to uruguay.
Side note
You can critize me for moving fast but i´m making due with the time and budget i have and i´d rather see it briefly then not at all
Cheers
Brian
