Friendly El salvador

When i heard El salvador is known for the friendliest people in central america, i never understood how friendly they really are...

Today i went looking for something that resembles waterfalls during the rainy season, sinces its the dry season its more of cool shapped rocks with some water trickling down.

These are suposed to be one of the main natural attractions in the area, however theres no signs no nothing.
So i went the old fashioned way, asking everyone i seen where they are.
The people were so happy to show me that they actually sent there kids along with me to show me where my next turn was.

Las cascadas
Once i arrived at the area i was told las cascadas were i couldnt see it, but there was 4 people with colorful vests on looking around too so i asked them, turns out they were with el salvador tourism and looking for ways to promote the area, and were also looking for las cascadas yup exactly the tourism people couldnt even find there own attraction lol
Eventually they found it i took a few photos and they offered me a lift back into town.

Things i really love about el salvador.
So im in whats to be a touristy town yet no tourists there pros and cons to this.
Coming from guatemala some of the pros are.
No kids or adults aggressivly asking for money or tryin to sell you there stuff. You can
You can eat a whole meal in peace without constantly being interupted... If i wasnt alone that{d probly be nice lol
The people are really helpful and genuine.

Well armed El salvador.
Not so much where i am now, but in san salvador its not uncomon to see well armed men in front of any building opened or closed.
The police roll around in crews of 6 to 8 in the back of pick up trucks with assault rifles.
Sometimes theres groups of 4 or 5 guys just straped to the teeth walking down the street.

When not armed with guns i notice lots of people in the smaller towns walking around with machetes although i figure this has something to do with agreculture and the jungle.
