so yesterday we explored our first ruins of the trip (this area of the world is full on mayan ruins, and also my second wonders of the world site.
tomorrow we head to tulum and coba for somemore ruins before making our way to belize here i hope to upload some of the photos from yesterday.

Right now we are in playa del carmen which is a refreshing change from the mega resorts and such of cancun, that being said playa del carmen is still very touristy and pricy depsite the fact that its the down season.

we slept in today enjoying our personal space of our new place (the last hostel which was really nice and great people was 15 people dorms which isn´t much for personal space.
and yesterday we had to get up at 6:30 to goto chichen itza today we decided to make a relaxing day and chilled at the beach which is really nice instead of massive resorts imposing themselfs on the beach playa del carmen is more of chilled out cafes and bars along the beach sorta reminding me of koh pagnan thailand (the full moon party island)
Our hostel is also 2 min from the beach which is nice compared to the 30 bus ride we had to the hotel zone in cancun.

last night we arrived in playa del carman around 11 pm and were told to bargin as it was the low season, let me tell you its not easy to bargin in mexico, we finnaly found a room that was about 12 dollars a bed and then it turned out the door didn´t lock coz t he wood had been warped from all the recent rain, so he offered to return us our money and we would have to goto our hostel which was a back up plan which was a 15 bed dorm for 10 dollars a night, for the room we ended up getting he wanted 35 dollars a night (17 each)
But in the end it was around 11pm and he stared for a while thikning thinking thinking and i guess it hit him that less money was better then no money so finnaly he switched us room with a locking door... the room though is pretty ghetto lol definatly a place not many people i know back home would stay in we even had a resident lizard but i think its for the best as he probably keeps the other insects away.

All in all depsite a rough start The trip is starting to shape up well and looking to be a good one i´m really exited to get out of mexico, its very nice here but it is just so touristy (i know in my area) that i just don´t feel very adventurous and am really excited to see what the rest of central america holds for us!

Oh on a side note on monday i met up with my new traveling companion for the next little while laura So far we´ve gotten along really well and have had a great time, i don´t think theres a better way to start ones trip or to spend a tuesday then exploring one of the new wonders of the world in good company

thats all for now sorry for such a scatter brained update right now my mind is all over the place
Hope you enjoy the photos!
Cheers
