Punta del este.
So my first time in punta del este was 3 years ago i have returned 3 years later to find it insainly expensive a hostel bed used to cost 15 dollars now its 30. A small beer in the bar is 7 dollars or more! a pitcher of sangria is upwords of 20 dollars that puts punta del este as one of the most expensive places in latin america, and prices the average uruguayian right out of the city.
So who comes you ask?
Pretty much the upperclass of brazil argentina and paragauy, and the rest of latin america.
The roads are packed with mercedez and BMW and porshes like i´ve never seen before, i heard some people have these cars just for janaury in punta del este as to drive them in t here own countries would be incredibly dangerious punta is super safe so they all drive there cars down to show off and keep up with the other rich people.
Paraguay its amazing paraguay which is one of the poorest countries in latin america every paraguayian car i seen was a 100k benz, I guess thats what they mean about uneven whealth distribution.
Beyond that its super hot here in UY right now, The sun is really strong.
Everyone who is able too is at the beach some where on vacation so a lot of the cities are ghost towns.
As for myself i will be heading to the beach as well a lil town called la paloma this weekend to go camping with some friends followed by heading to colonia and then taking the boat to buenos aires where i will stay and HOPEFULLY Visit some friends...
Thats a biG IF coz i have had some bad luck recently with my latino friends and reliablity...
Looking further into the future like say FEB i am thinknig about headin to Brazil as i just can not leave this area of the world without knowing RIO its a must i dont even care if its during carnivale i just wana go there.
As after this i have no idea when i will be back to this area of the world.
I love latin america But after having traveled every country from mexico down to uruguay except for venuzuala in the past year its all feeling pretty much the same thanks to globalization and the adventure and mystery and excitment is slowing down.
