Honey, I'm home! The return to Melbourne.
Entry 27 of 95 | show all | print this entry |
Got into Melbourne this morning, and it feels so strange. Like in a book, where the same motif occurs at the end as in the beginning. I have realised that I have just finished my "travelling" travelling in Oz. Sad. But I've had a good run of it, and it's good to be back to familiar people and surroundings. And I'm ready for a bit of stability in my life again. I've started to notice that sometimes I'm asking people about their travels and not even listening to their responses. That tells me that I may be a horrible person, but at any rate, it's time for a break. So I have called some friends here and called some recruiters to line up interviews, and I'm hopeful of finding the sort of job I want. I am not so hopeful about fitting into my suit after fully enjoying Australia for the last few months. But I will worry about that... well, not tomorrow. Tomorrow is Derby Day, at last. I am going with Jack and Shelby and Co., and I fully expect it to be a fabulous day. Even though it means I have to iron my single, solitary dress, and hope that I won't be too easily picked out as a backpacker. Will keep you posted.
