First of all we went to the train cemetary
. Then after visiting the local community near the salt desert (they are one of the only ones to exploit the salt here) we went strait into the desert. Stopped at the salt hotel and museum.
Then we went to the cactus island
, had un tour and then stopped to start taking loads of pictures
, playing with the persepectives that the desert creates.
Roamed around a bit more, crossed half of the desert again and then arrived at our hotel on the shores of this vast blanc space.. Walked around, visited the littel ´pueblo´ lower down where we did not see one living soul. Then walked up to a nearby ill followed by a dog (which was actually hte only living soul we saw in the village) and chiled out watching the sun set on the desrt, surrounded by two donkeys and our faithfull dog, which did not stop barking a the donkeys.
Had dinner, played some cards with Alex the columbian guy and then enoyed a well earned sleep.
Received a mail form Flore telling me she will maybe be on the train from Villazon to Uyuni arriving at 1:30am. We took a bus that should arrive at 1am. our bus arrived at 2am but deceide to ask aroud anyway for the trian..... it hadnt arrived so we went off to the train tation and it finally arrived at 2:45am. And miracles of miracles Flore was on the trian. We met up got a room. Slept until 8am. Went around the agencies to find a tour to go visit the Slar of Uyuni: After two or three we found one we would do teh three day tour for just under 55euros per person.. Perfect!! So we signed up, had breakfeast and headed off with the jeep into the desert.
