Where I stayed
Gaz (who has done a few treks before) informed us that the Hooters bar in San An was the best of the 12 he had visited across the U.S (in terms of chicken wings and quality beer, ofcourse :P) so we promptly ducked and weaved through the packed riverside promenade to find it. With our British accents and cool story of travelling across America in a van we set about impressing our scantily clad waitresses
The next day we drove another 8 hours (Texas is huuuuuge) to Big Bend National Park which shares a border with Mexico. We were met at Big Bend by impressive mountains and stunning scenery and also by a Park Ranger who warned us that there had been several sightings of Black Bears and Mountain Lions recently near our camp ground, queue me shitting myself at any slight rustle in the bushes for the next two days solid. Big Bend was a great experience though, we spent the days hiking (which was a welcome bit of exercise after all the junk food the U.S has to offer) and the nights playing drinking games & again jumping at any slight noise heard from the wilderness. Next stop is another beast of a drive across the rest of Texas to Tombstone, Arizona apparently a little town full of old school saloons. Awesome.
p.s apologies for the lack of photo's, hopefully will get them up soon when we find better internet.
