Sunday morning, we decided to go to Bako National Park, which is about an hour North of Kuching. The plan was to go there, do loads of trekking and beaching and come back after spending a night there. We got a bus followed by a boat and was amazed and how nice and clean the beaches are.

We were straight away warned about some of the monkeys on the island, and how they like to steal and terrorize the people visiting the island. And true to there word, that is what they do. Jodie and I were eating breakfast for example in the morning and a monkey legged it and jumped up on to our table, grabbing a muffin and a sausage and legging it off again. When we first arrived we cracked straight on with a 5 hour trek, taking us up and around cliff tops looking the beaches and sea. It was so, so hot. Really unbearable and by the end we were both soaked through and dying of dehydration. We got back to our hotel, showered off and watched Man City play Spurs. We then spent the rest on the evening walking on the beach, watching the sunset and messing about. Like io have said loads of times before, its a hard life.

Following day we were woken to the sound of monkeys wandering around on the roof of our room. We had breakfast and headed on another 3 hour trek to a beach. The beach was completely secluded and we were the only 2 there at the beginning. We spent about 3 hours relaxing, and keeping an eye on our stuff from them gypo monkeys. We went into the water one at a time because they really would go for your stuff given half a chance. I even made us a little shelter. Felt like Cast Away! The water came in so quick over such a short space of time that after a couple of times moving away from it, further inland we began the trek back, resulting in being completely soaked in sweat.

We then got a boat and bus back to Kuching.
