I went to check out the elephant seals and hoped to see an orca. This is the only place in the world where orcas come on the beach to snatch baby elephant seals.

National Geographic was set up to try to film an attack - but the photographer was right on the edge of the water, which to me seemed foolish in a place where killer whales like to snack on things that hang out on the edge of the water - maybe I could get a photo of a National Geographic film crew getting snatched by killer whales - imagine the irony!
The only violence I saw was a territory fight between two Elephant seals, which was rather violent. Make sure to zoom in on the photos below, or go to my picassa site at http://picasaweb.google.com/sekervin to see the larger pictures.
Next up: 27 hours by bus across the continent to climb an active volcano!
