Greetings, all. I'm sorry I haven't been more diligent in my updating, but there hasn't been much happening lately. Last week classes went as usual. I went to my first critique this Friday for ceramics workshop. Although I wasn't the one being critiqued, I got a good feel for the crit. process here. It's sort of intimidating, but I look forward to hearing what others think of my work.

This past Friday, David (Germany) and I went to a venue-type place called Toast. They were having 'Lithium' night, which is basically a DJ playing indie-alternative-retro music. I thought it wouldn't be that fun, considering David doesn't talk much, but it was actually a blast. We danced all night (believe it or not). I think I've figured out that, it's not that I don't LIKE to dance, it's just that I feel too self-conscious to do so. Now, I'm trying to just own the fact that I can't dance well and that, in turn, helps me to have more fun 01yum

.

Yesterday I went with Catherine and Natasja dress shopping for the Ursies ball in 2 weeks. I had my mom and dad send me a dress so I wouldn't have to pay a fortune, but it's still nice looking. Then, last night was the Ursies presentation of the Wizard of Oz. It was a really bizzare, not-so-well performed version of the L Frank Baum novel, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Afterwards we all migrated to a bar/club called Mooseheads followed by another bar/club called ICBM. Again, more dancing ensued, and it was altogether a good time.

Right now, I'm stealing wireless internet from the dorm's common room because I STILL don't have internet in my room. :( While I'm here, I'll keep all you American folk up to speed on some Aussie (pron. Auzzie, not Aussie)info:

1. If someone asks you, "how're you going?" the correct response would be "fine, thanks"
It seems to be the equivalent of the American, "how's it going?"

2. If someone says "cheers", they mean "thank you" and if they say "no worries", they mean
"no problem" or "you're welcome"

. The toilets DO NOT flush the other way. They are strange, however, because they flush by way of a button on the top of the tank. There are two buttons side by side; one is for 'half flush' and the other is for 'full'...I'm guessing you can imagine which is for which.

4. Vegemite, the mysterious Aussie condiment is, in fact, disgusting. It basically tastes like salt paste and smells like earwax.

5. Garbage is called Rubbish that you place in a 'bin' when you want to throw it away.

6. Catsup doesn't exist...only 'tomato sauce', which does not go on spaghetti, rather, sausage.

That's about all I can think of for now. I'll add more educational tidbits later. Have a great week, everyone!

Hey seana, I just found out about this weblog and I really like it! You should bring me back some of this mysterious condiment so we can do some science experiments on it. And this toilethalffulldbutton contraption sounds like I want one.

Dingo?
This whole water not flowing the wrong way is crazy man, just crazy. If you're right about it, then I feel like I have been lied to my whole life. This is just like when I found out the world was round, I cried for an entire week. It was unbelievably good to hear your voice. I was close to jumping up and down ,but since I was napping during March of the Penguins, that didn't happen. Remember, dance like a crazy all the time and the distance between friends is never too far. I love you.
