Hello everyone! It is now day 3 in Canberra, and I am feeling much more awake than I have for the past couple of days. I arrived Wednesday afternoon here after a VERY long plane trip from LA to Melbourne (MEL-burn). It lasted about 16 hours, and then I had to hop directly onto a charter plane from Melbourne to Canberra. I was the only non-buisnessperson on the plane (since Canberra is the country capitol), so that was a bit awkward. Everyone here was very friendly in welcoming me to my dorm. It is called Ursula Hall, and it's not unlike the dorm I lived in freshman year at U of I. As far as the weather, it is pretty cold here, about 50 degrees or so. I wasn't anticipating that, and I've been wearing a scarf almost every night. The living community is very tight knit, and I've already met a couple of Americans here. We eat together at meal times, and we went out for a drink or two the other night to celebrate one girl's birthday. It was nice. Yesterday, I signed up for my classes. I will be taking screenprinting on Mondays, Asian art history on Tuesdays, and ceramics the rest of the week from 9-4. It'll be a long week, but it will also keep me busy. Tonight they are having a welcoming get together for us at the ANU campus bar, so I look forward to meeting other international students there. That's pretty much all for now. My address is

Thank goodness you're okay! I had already lit the candles in remembrance of you. Every day I miss you but I am so excited for you! You better not meet anyone super cool down there because the other 6 girls and I don't want to be replaced or anything. Hi Seana! I'm so happy to hear from you via the internet. I was just thinking how nice it'll be that you get almost a full year of not wintertime. I mean, from January till about March it was crappy, but now from March till November it's like Spring/Summer straight through. How nice. I guess. I mean, hey I like it. Okay now I'm off to write you a paper letter.
