Excuse the lame cryptic title.....Ricky Gervais' podcasts are probably to blame (actually Karl Pilkington's Rockbusters probably more likely)....but yes Buda....Pest....

Moving on.....we left Bratislava passing new development mixed with old communist blocks of flats painted enticing pastels and literally endless roadside billboards. If we thought that Bratislavan residential areas were less than easy on the eye we found ourselves surounded by them in our suburban Pest campsite!! After pitching the tent (circa 5mins for tent +air bed given our new electric pump after the footpump blew out!) we locked in a feed at the local supermarket.

Today we rose early with the intention of signing on for a free guided walk of Buda (Buda lies on one side of the Danube River and Pest on the other). Narrowly missing that one we set off on our own tour. Heading up the Buda Hills for some impressive views of the city....which are pretty sweet from outside the hilltop museum and Fisherman's Bastion. After we headed back down and over the river into Pest..end topping by the pretty imposing riverside Hungarian Parliament and the sweet parks with thier water features which were key for the feet as we'd clocked up a fair few miles on the foot falcon. Tipping mid 30's in the heat of the day the water was good for the feet but when you needed some to rehydrate....that was a much tougher task! It turns out that Hungarians don't drink still water but the fizzy variety and trying to decipher the labels was proving difficult as 4 out of 4 bottles we choose turned out fizzy....time for a trusted powerade!!

We were tossing up whether to head along to the famous Budapest hot pools for an evening dip but being a ridiculusly hot day the thought of a relaxing hot bath didn't quite appeal. Instead we headed back to camp via the first electrified rail line in the world.....and by the looks of it the oldest rial carts too!!! Dinner was at the on site bar.....goulash and some spit roasted!! Laters Budapest!
