Well, the last couple of days have been an adventure. I spent most of Saturday wandering around Antigua and crashed early. Yesterday I went to the largest market in Latin America which is held every Sunday in Chichicastenango. Try saying that fast three times! It was a 3 hour bus ride there and the market was packed when we arrived at 10am. While it was quite a sight, I really donīt like crowds and it was so packed that people were literally pushing on my back to move through the crowd. There were a lot of hard sells and even more people begging. I was supposed to meet up with Jessica but it turns out she didnīt go to the market yesterday. My plans to travel back together fell through and I was almost stranded in ChiChi because all of the shuttles had left for Antigua. I ended up finally finding one filled with lots of "colorful" locals. For the ENTIRE 3 hour ride they sang at the top of their lungs. Antigua was the most welcome sight I have seen in a while. I went out for great mexican food as a treat when I got back. Today was my first day of class but more about that later...I have a date to try and meet up with Jessica again!
