Checked into the Bloem Steen homestay after a manic bike ride through the traffic across town where we went up pavements and the wrong way down roads head on into traffic!
Woke up the next morning yet again by the local mosque,really starting to get annoyed by these fellas!
One starts up at 5am,screaming across the microphone,then about 4others join in like backing singers!Spent two days in Jakarta,walked to the largest Mosque in South East Asia,to Kota the main area and around the plazas in the centre but something about the place just couldnt stand it for some reason,one of the worst places Ive been so far and after getting attacked by squadrons of mossies on first night in room must have had about 20 bites all over me!
After being there 10minutes the owner knocks on my door,and is standing there with two lads and says I look like a film star!?Im like,"okkkkkkkay!?"Yeah these guys want to know if you want to be in their film? you have a european face and theyre making a film about the Bali bombings and will pay you 400,000 for 9 hours filming work tonight till 2am.After learning to be suspicious about everything I turned them down!Booked a ticket in "executive" class train for 8am the next morning and hopped onto the train and spent the 9hour journey watching "Master and Commander" with Russel Crowe speaking Indonesian!Glad to leave Jakarta!
