Eventually got back to Kuala Lumpur after a long wait in Jerantut to be transferred and arrived back in Chinatown in the middle of a MASSIVE storm and downpour.Couldnt be bothered to run with backpack in the rain to the golden triangle where the night life was and so checked into Lee Mun hotel,a dorm place above a chinese/hawker stall centre,on the 5th floor with the walls plastered with newspaper cuttings and a bunk bed for 10ringhit a night.
Met Linda at night in the reggae bar and had a few whiskys watching the football before saying goodbye as she was off on her tour of Indochina the next morning.Got back to my room only to meet my dorm mate,a Spanish hippy with long hair who looked like hadnt seen a shower for 3 months. He'd been away from Gran Canaria for 8years travelling and done Korea, worked in England,China,Japan and basically all of Malaysia.Started off chatting and amusing him,but then just went on,and on,and on,non stop talking about what he'd done, and asking me questions about benefits and pensions in England, how his Korean girlfriend could get work in the country, not the sort of questions I wanted to be answering at 3am when all I wanted to do was sleep!Even when I picked up a book he carried on,and just before my ears started to bleed I pretended to be asleep!Think he carried on for a bit even then!
Woke up next morning and waited for him to go before opening my eyes!Walked for 2hours to the Indonesian embassy as one good thing he'd told me was you only get a 30day visa not 60 now. After walking round for ages in the humidity got to the embassy and after qeueing with about 200 refugees got turned away as I had shorts on,GREAT!
booked my flight to Pnohm Pehn for the 24th and back from Siem Reap Cambodia for 65quid including taxes return!Spent the last two days in K.L on the internet, watching the footy and saving money by making the most of the hostels free Tea,nodding and listening to the Spanish blokes rants, and eating my new fave snack from the 7-11, coconut rice wrapped in a banana leaf and newspaper!
