Met american bloke and couple of Germans on the ferry from Phi Phi to Krabi who recommended staying at Ao Nang as Krabi town was quite crap and from Ao Nang you could get boats wherever you wanted.So jumped into back of a cab with them and checked into the Jinda guest house,above an Indian restaurant with no toilet for 200baht.Walked up the road to see what was about and saw a sign saying "Krabi Shooting Range",so thought ah itll be air rifles?ill give it a go!Walked in and the signs on the walls say lists of guns from shotguns,to magnum .22's,.45's!
Asked if I needed any experience thinking theyd want a safety bloke there,she just shrugged and asked which gun i wanted,whether a magazine or what and how many bullets,cool!
Had to go for the Dirty Harry Magnum .45!Had a massive kick back and deafened me,but got 2 bulls and only 2 shots in the white!
Not much around Ao Nang but the coastline really pretty,full of limestone rock formations jutting out of the sea looking like loads of jungle filled islands.
Hired a scooter out next day to look around,headed for Krabi town and just on a dual carriageway had a blow out puncture and nearly lost it!Had to wheel the bike about half a mile to a bloke who looked like he was greasy and waited while he replaced the innertube!Not much in Krabi town,a KFC! and the traffic lights were in boxes held up above the roads by stone model ape men!?bizarre!

Kayaking Trip To Hong Island

Booked a tour of Hong Island for next morning,got longtail boat met couple from spain and singapore,got dropped off onto deserted island and told to wait while they got the kayaks.Walked along the beach and saw some caves so walked towards them to have a look in,walked through a massive spiders web and a HUGE spider dropped on my arm.Nearly squeeled like a girl!

Starfish

Kayaked around the whole of the island,hundreds of jelly fish washing around us,went into a lagoon where the mangroves grew,completely green with an eagle flying above and loads of kingfisher and star fishes in the water.Then back onto the boat where we got dropped at Paradise Island-and that it was!

A strip of beach,crystal water,hammocks and swings in the trees,and just cracking where we ate fruit and snorkelled.

Wouldnt mind being stranded here!

Went back via Ralay island which was a tiny strip of beach off a big rock,in the middle of the sea where for some reason the water went really shallow.Got up next day to get longtail boat over to Railey beach stayed there for day as cant drive over,went to come back when a storm came over and had to hide in the minimart with some swedish girls while we waited for the rain to slow down.On way back to Ao Nang,waves were coming over the boat and it was leaving the water everytime we hit a wave,an english girl was nearly crying!
Got chatting to Katherine from Penrhyn,lake districe while trying to buy some stamps in the 7-eleven and after a bit decided to meet later on for few beers and bite to eat.

Had booked mini bus to Hat Yai as decided to head onto Malaysia next morning so planned a quiet one as leaving at 6am for 5hour journey.Ended up back at 2am,and at 6 woken up by guest house saying my van was outside waiting!
