Where I stayed
Unfortunately when we got there it was scruffy nothingness of duty-free booze shops, dirty mechanic yards and down-and-out boarded facades, a complete contrast to yesterdays exploration.
With a quick U-turn we about faced and hungrily headed to our old haunt 'Troppo Co' for a gourmet lunch......a huge baguette brimming with yummy stuff.
Dropping the scooter off around 3pm we then headed back to the hotel to do some last minute packing, having paid for a late check out from the room
From our room Paula spotted a monitor lizard sliding into the fish pond across the way and watched as it headed towards a koi carp lunch.
After a sweaty hug from Bernard and having had his Facebook details pressed into her palm Paula backed away from him and into the taxi were Vikki had already retreated to safety. Off to the airport we went for our flight to Kuala Lumpur.
At the airport we purchased a bottle of vodka from duty free and had a few cheeky ones outside to prepare for the impending flight. It was while we were outside that we met two Aussie ladies and had a good laugh, so much so that we were the last four to arrive at the departures gate.
First time for us both in KL, as they call it, we took a crazy bus transfer into the city and were dropped at the central train station, to then be charged an extortionate amount to go ten minutes down to the road in a taxi to our hotel.
Upon getting closer to where we were staying we were greeted by a barrage of partying bars and clubs, that's right, we'd booked into the party zone of down town Kuala Lumpur, and all we wanted to do was sleep off the vodka.
