Another lie in at the Geopark Hotel followed by a breakfast of two-minute noodles before getting ourselves together and trekking the long five metres from our front door to the cable car entrance.

We managed to dodge the army of burka clad women and beat the mid-morning rush, and started our impossibly steep cable car ascent to the summit and, as it happened, were to be greeted by a selection of wax hands in some very compromising poses......

upon disembarking our cable car there stood a stall of psychedelic technicolor hand gestures captured in wax for the more discerning mountain top shopper! (we decided to pass).

Bypassing the strong urge to capture a wanking hand in wax, we headed directly to the viewing platform and beheld breathtaking views over the west coast of Langkawi.

After enough photo's were taken we swiftly boarded another cable car and traversed to the highest and final peak in the range.

We were disappointed to discover that the 'Sky Walk' was closed (an open suspended walkway at the summit), but this aside the views were spectacular in all directions and were afforded a 360 degree panorama of Langkawi and its surrounding islands. However, as they sold no booze in the cafe we decided we'd had enough of the experience and it was time to head back down.

With a comfortable decline from the highest peak to the mid way terminal, we then stayed on-board for the descend which felt like a shudderingly fast drop compared the our ascent.

Back at sea level we concluded that the Segway experience would be too expensive an the restriction of having a guide accompanying us at all times meant that Segway pub crawl was out of the question. Instead we hit the pool to sunbathe and contemplate how very high the mountain cable car went.

After seeing ourselves in bikini's we decided to skip dinner and pass the night away drinking wine and playing cards....

that was when we met Bernard who ran a German supper club and decided he wanted our company, not so much to engage in conversation but to talk at us with the added benefit of excitable spittle punctuating his sentences.

After a few hours and all alcohol consumed we bid goodnight to 'Spit The Hund' and carried our tired behinds to bed....with Bernard suggesting we should do the same again tomorrow....gulp!
