Aiming on another relaxing day we had another lie in until it was time to change rooms to our downgraded version - which turned out to be perfectly acceptable. Only a couch and fridge missing! We hoped that there would also be the absence of our very active and hungry mosquito friends...

We sorted out our laundry (well overdue) and left the hotel to explore the beach. We got as far as The Boat restaurant where we stopped for a let lunch (worst Tom Yam soup to date and burnt garlic Pak Choi) - Paula got to have her first experience of multiple 'squid beak jester hats'...

We paid up and walked to a long stretch of white sandy beach lapped by crystal blue waters (with no rocks, seaweed, jellyfish or sharks...) and spent the rest of the afternoon sunbathing and swimming surrounded by Germans and Russians. At least we weren't the fattest on the beach...

With our skin tingling we called it a day and went back to Zachrys via the 'Tourist Needs Shoppe' for some supplies - a cornetto, some Cheezels and menthol cigarettes (Salems Lot).

Feeling up for a night of frivolity we headed out to the Sun Ba complex and sat at the outside bar for several Jacky D's. It became apparent that Tuesdays are quiet for socialising (there seemed to be only us out) and we were contemplating hiring a private karaoke booth with complimentary jugs of beer when Sam and a new lady friend (Janet - the fawn from Pan's Labyrinth) appeared and we were invited to shoot some pool with them, where we drank some more and chewed the fat.

It turns out that Janet was a dental nurse from Kendal in Cumbria who was a pretty decent pool player herself and with Sam exchanging some drinks vouchers for some complimentary JD and cokes our pool playing deteriorated rapidly!

We got back to Zackrys at 2am hoping for a few beers and a game of cards but the bar was shut. It was probably best....we put ourselves to bed pretty well oiled already...
