Woken up by Jo declaring 'you know it’s the first of December today?' at which point Vikki suddenly lunged out from the bunk below and inflicted 'pinch, punch, first day of the month' on Paula, shortly followed by the same from Jo. Paula really enjoyed these sudden and painful alarm calls...

After Jane had stopped vomiting we caught the train to Cape Town (only 17 Rand - 1.50!) and rode the tracks for just over an hour until we returned to a sunny and clear Cape Town day. England - 33   New Zealand - 10..........sorry girls!!!!

Left the lounge and headed for our gate but having seen quite a sizable queue at boarding we headed to the airports swanky smoking lounge for a puff, and met Pakim, a gay Thai man who became our best friend in about three minutes flat, also seated one row behind us as it turned out.

Boarded, seated and with a quick ouch down in Johannesburg we headed for Doha.........

We settled in for the long haul and got chatting to .......
