Showered and packed our stuff away and then treated ourselves to a cooked breakfast ahead of two more consecutive days camping in the bush. We called in at Maun to get some 'supplies' - mainly booze and snacks for the quarry party planned for tonight - and hit the road.

At around 5pm we arrived at our designated bush camp which turned out to be a working quarry complete with JCB and truck. The workers told us we couldn't camp on the site so we drove into the bushes, cracked open a beer each and set about questioning Aluns credentials as a tour leader...

We wondered whether, by the morning light, we would be offered a tour of the quarry for a special group price of $95 each...

We got into our fancy dress, made some boozy punch and had burgers for dinner;
Vik was a Buccaneer,
Paula was a Baboon (with an inflated red balloon arse),
James & David came as the Biryani Brothers,
Kelly was Bob Marley (she even blacked herself up),
Emily was Barbie and Sarah J was a Bimbo...

The 'B' for Botswana theme seemed to work quite well except for the kamikaze bugs (cicada) which kept dive-bombing the unsuspecting campers and made such a deafening rattling sound for a lot of the night that it was impossible to sleep without a hefty slug (or ten) of the 'Black Thunder' punch...
