Woke up, checked our orifices for beasties and then headed off on a 10k hike to Bridal Veil falls.

There was not too much to see but it was nice to do something more active, it was a pleasant walk and a decent hike to blow away the cobwebs. We topped off the excursion with a visit to the Blue Moon Bar; no electricity, toilets even a tramp wouldn't pee in - but cheap booze and a nice beer garden to our surprise!

Back at the camp the cook group prepared meatballs and we drank fizzy wine whilst awaiting the return of the group who were doing the whole day hike.

A van carrying only Simone arrived with a placating beer for Tom (she and Bobby were meant to be on cook group too but had got waylaid at the local bar) and after a quick spruce up Simone hopped in the van and headed back to the party! Undeterred, the rest of us ate dinner and marvelled at Vikki's peacock impersonations - a woman of many talents!

Once Vikki and Peter had finished communicating to our feathered friends we adjourned to the lounge to have a couple of drinks. We decided it would be very supportive of us if the girls were to wear moustaches for Movember just like the boys - so out came the eyeliner pencil and pretty soon we were all sporting comedy facial hair. No sooner had we settled down to a game of cards than the place was in uproar. The remaining ten hikers had returned from the pub ravenous - fighting over food like a pack of wild animals, dropping the left over meatballs on the floor and then scrabbling to eat them (two second rule...), running off with the bowls and fighting tooth and nail for the best bits. Jane had spaghetti hanging out of her mouth, whilst Bobby and Brook were jumping on her back, Kelly practically had her face in the Tupperware bowl of pasta and Naomi looked like she had just been performing urban street dance - all of their faces were covered in blue permanent marker scribbles! What ambassadors for Overlanding...!! The room went crazy - they spotted our moustaches, drew on each other some more, someone threw a lighter in the fire which promptly exploded over Tom, food fights, screeching, play-fighting...it was like feeding time at the zoo! Mesmerising to watch and the source of many a blackmail photo! By all accounts the day had been a triumph and the local bar had benefitted handsomely from their patronage!

The group is definitely bonding....

Want to see Vikki doing her peacock impression.....and her orangutan dance.....! Sounds like you're having a brilliant time, but need to identify more potential pets for illegal smuggling into UK, along with Mr Leaf Beast etc etc xxxxxx
