As the ferry pulled away there were two big plumes of smoke rising up from Zanzibar town.
Whilst Vikki lay on the ferry floor trying to retain the contents of her stomach, Paula protected the bags (by shoving them under Vikki) and tried to stop locals from treading on her head
Shortly, and with collective relief, we docked and jumped on a Tuc-Tuc back to Mikadi Beach campsite - this journey was not without incident as Paula was ordered off the Tuc-Tuc by a soldier at the ferry - she didn't argue. Vikki, obviously looking like a lady of substance, was allowed to ride all the way!
Arriving back at Mikadi beach we upgraded to a banda on the beach and slept off some of the sweats from the suspected tonsillitis we both seemed to have picked up on Zanzibar. Vikki looked in Paula's mouth and commented that her left tonsil looked like a testicle. How we laughed, despite our sore throats and swollen tonsils.
After dinner we played Scrabble (Scrabble?!) over a couple of cocktails and then sent ourselves to bed early - longest journey of the trip is scheduled for tomorrow and a disgustingly early start...
