Stopped in Nukuru town - most annoying and persistant street sellers so far! Got supplies for Paula's cook duty tonight and headed to Naivasha. Annoyed. Hot, dusty and agitated by personal space invaders!Saw hippos during a boat ride across Lake Naivasha - one of them 'breached' right next to the boat and we all squealed a little - even Arris! Especially Arris.
Kelly says that Hippos are 'armoured swimming pigs'. Kelly has a fascination for pigs.
Moored at Joy and George Adamsons house and had 'high tea' and watched the Colobus monkeys playing in the trees
Paula found it amazing to see the real home and belongings of the Adamsons having watched the film for the first time with her Grandma many years ago and being captivated by the story.
Back to camp to make curried risotto, roast campfire marshmallows and indulge in a risque game of chinese whispers - which always seemed to end with something about cocks or penises! Fishermans camp proved to be a jolly good ging-gang-goolie-goolie camping experience even though we had the fear of timbering trees and rampant hippos attacking us in the night. Gin is a great nerve calmer.
Went to the bar to show Stacey that you can ride a giraffe - these were large wooden sculptures but sturdy enough to take even my weight (much less than usual Tash).
Hannah did not realise Amsterdam was in Holland. How we laughed.
