It's SO good to get out of Bangkok. That's a fact I really can't stress enough, a fact I never fully appreciated until just a few hours ago as we lazed on the bank of the Kwai in deck chairs, beer in hand, with little else around us other than the breeze from the river, a slowly setting sun and a thick wall of solid in-your-face silence. Bangkok - to this - couldn't be further away.

It feels like a different world. The climate's cleaner and more temperate. The vegetation's lush. It's eerily still, prehistorically peaceful and there's a general feeling in the air that I can't quite put my finger on. It's just so far removed from everything else. It's timeless. It's perfect. I'll be here for a week.

Jolly Frog
Great little backpackers isn't it. I found it to be the best bargain in Thailand and the decking/garden area is fantastic.
