'Anyone seen my thick fleece?'

After rising from a wonderful nights sleep, I cooked up some hot, creamy scrambled eggs on thick toast for breakfast then promptly packed, loaded up the bus and it was off South this time to Invercargill - New Zealands most Southern city. And bloody freezing it was too. There was an option of flying to Stewart Island (the third major island which makes up New Zealand) for a day and/or overnight trip . This is where we all went our separate ways. Igno, Daz, Tabbi and Alex were on a fixed timescale and it was important for them to see Stewart Island before their travels came to an end. I'd read a little about Stewart Island previously (particularly how incredible it is) and decided against the trip as I wanted to spend a good few days there in the New Year as opposed to one or two. I did actually consider going along but it costs around $85 to ferry or fly there so there was little point doing the trip twice for the sake of it. So for me it was onwards with Chris, Chicken and Rich.

Today and tonight gave us heaps of rain backed by a hefty wind with an even heftier chill so we decided to stay in. Invercargill is freeeezing! We did a bit of shopping, got a few beers in and I rustled us up a bit of a hot Mexican feast while we happily chatted the night away. We left the cold outside!
