So - I decided to do it.
Everything I own is is currently in the transitional phase of being either sold, stored or buried and then I'm going. I have condensed my whole existence to the size of a small backpack (note to self - get your pack!)
To explain the next part of the journey, we need to turn the world on it's head for a minute and have a look at life 'down under'.
So if you think about it, when I lie on my back out there and look up at the night sky thinking about you lot upside-down right underneath me, I'll be looking at a completely different star set!
Anyway, I just thought I'd illustrate my general destination so you can see roughly where I'm headed. So, looking at the map - to narrow things down a bit (to a 'segment' if you like) the bit they call Oceania is the bit between half past three and half past six (approximately).
It's actually our smallest continent, and they say it's one of the most diverse and fascinating areas on the planet. It combines all of Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, as well as the thousands of coral atolls and volcanic islands of the South Pacific Ocean, including the Melanesia, Polynesia AND Micronesia groups - absolute paradise..!

I intend to cover as much as possible before hopefully venturing into 'Asia' (our largest continent.) But, as I'm not by any means a seasoned traveller I thought I'd break myself in gradually so as not expose myself to too much radical culture shock. So it's simple. My first stop is to the two little 'lamb-chop' shaped islands that make up Aoteorea - The Land of the Long White Cloud.
