We are so sick of rain! I wanted to start our blog out today with that because it has dominated our conversation all day. We had a few hours of nice weather this morning to see Charles Fort, which is just outside of Kinsale. But it rained for the rest of the day and we are at such an amazing hotel right on the water in Glengarriff. Frustrating.

Like I mentioned above we started by touring Charles Fort. It is located on the water looking at Kinsale and was built in the 17th century to protect Southern Ireland. In the 17th century the English ruled Ireland and they were worried about the Spanish coming up to take over the country and join forces with Ireland. It is built in a star-shapped pattern as many were in that day like Fort George in Scotland. But anyway, after we toured here we had a pinic by the harbor in Kinsale, and did some shopping. It's an hour and twenty minute drive from Kinsale to Glengarriff. It rained the whole way and it still is. Yay Ireland!

Before dinner we headed out in the rain to look for Bekah's relatives that live in the area. Bekah's Grandpa's cousin lives next door to her Great Grandfather's homestead. Addresses are weird here (see wee note to follow) and we think the address we have, may be spelled wrong. Never-the-less, we were determined to find it. We went down a few winding roads and didn't find anything. We knocked on a few doors but no one answered. Also, there are not many roads off the main highway here and most of them are driveways without names. We will try again tomorrow.
