After a few phonecalls on the way we finally found some rooms at the quaint little Hotel Arany Trofea in the older section of Eger. The roms were quaint, yet of good size, there were beds for 4 people in our room. We unpacked and then walked down to the city centre for a quick snack, my stomach wasn't still the best so I stuck to some light fries, wasn't quite game to try some of the spicy Hungarian foods.

Got back and slept well, the next morning we planned a long day of exploring the city.

The Hotel Arany Trofea cost us about 35 euro for the night which was pretty good, just a 3 star family run business. It was opened in December 2002 and has an elegant restaurant and beer terrace. There are about 15 rooms on the first floor. It is in walking distance to the old part of the city.

We stayed here for 2 nights before heading off to Debrecen.
