Ever wondered why we call Hungary what we do and not by its proper name 'Magyar'?  Well it has been pestering me for awhile so I intent to try and find out and let you all know.

Hungary [ˈhʌŋgəɹi] (helpˇinfo) (Hungarian: Magyarország; IPA: ['mɔɟɔrorsaːg]; listen (helpˇinfo)), officially in English the Republic of Hungary (Magyar Köztársaság listen (helpˇinfo), literally Magyar (Hungarian) Republic), is a landlocked country in the Carpathian Basin of Central Europe, bordered by Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia.

What about Finland?
I hear that Finland has some strange name as well, Suomi, and Albania is called Shqiperia.

I wonder how these names come about.
