With our 1000 baht boat trip one of the highlights was the snake farm. We just stopped at a small pier and right away there were Thai ppl trying to get money from us. One woman took our foto and we had not gotten about 100 metres from the pier when some guy comes out and wraps a python around Dave's shoulders. Then I get my turn. Once we take a foto each he asks for 100 baht so he can feed his snake.

Inside it is like a house with large backyard full of cages for the birds and deep cement pens for the animals. As u can see in the fotos, there were monkeys, a large tortoise, crocodile, there were 2 sleeping bears, a tiger and of course the snakes.

We were told that we were just in time for the main show (i think they say that for every visitor that comes) and we, plus a few other tourists sat around this large cement ring while a few Thai guys entered with their sacks. Then they tipped out the snakes and wow did they move. Considering that the distance between us and the snakes was about only 15 feet and the cement border was about 1 foot high, it would not take long for a snake to reach us. Dave and I sat on the top rail of stairs, ready to jump ouf of the ring if need be. The cobras were not so bad, they just stood in their usual pose and kept snapping at the 'clown' in front of them who was teasing them with his knees.

It was the longer and more nimbler snakes we were worried about who moved around the ring with such each. In the end it cost us another 500 baht for the show plus feeding the animals and then finally a girl came out with our foto (the one she took earlier) on a plate. At least it could have been the pic of me holding the snake. The only other snake we had to contend with was the driver of the boat but he got us back home in one piece.
