After a brief stay in downtown Vancouver I head to Vancouver island for the final month of my trip. The journey over on the ferry is magical the sky is super blue and the sun defiantly has his hat on! The journey takes about 2 hours and I spend all the time on the top deck taking in the view, I think I am in for a treat for what have seen so far. We dock at Nanimo and i wait to be picked up by a helpx host. Yet again I am using the Helpx program to help me with my stay on the island, Christine picks me up from the ferry port and we head to there place. I don't stay with these guys that long as getting out and about from there place is difficult and they don't have any specific project for me so I get a little board so  move on. Next I head to Victoria which is beautiful the sun is still shining like it's summer, the hostel I stayed in was very cool and Victoria feels very hip and trendy it has all these amazing buildings and boats but also has tonnes of homeless people begging and wondering around there is clearly a major problem like in Vancouver but it adds to the feel of the place. While I was there I did some whale watching, went to the Imax and saw an amazing film on cowboys around the world I also went to Sidney and visited the brilliant museum to name but a few things I have had a lovely time but again time to move next stop Duncan. A while ago I was contacted by a host in Duncan and I never reply-ed so I thought I would give them a shout and see if they still required my services. It turned out that they were happy to have me stay and had a whole host of jobs for me. Theses two guys were artists and lived in a beautiful house just outside Duncan with a mountain
(Mt Tzauhalem) as a back drop and all the maple leaves changing color it was a stunning place. While I was there I did some gardening in the veggie garden and put an irrigation system in and spent hours walking the dog Sophie up the mountain. I stayed there until i head back to Vancouver for my flight out, I had a lovely stay and felt very calm and focused when I left I suppose it was a combination of good company, fab food and lovely surroundings. Thank you! X
