Where I stayed
Rental House - Salt Creek
He just reminds me of Roxy. Before we even gave him food, he hung out at our house. Waited at the dock for us to return from our day away. And when we walked down the beach and returned he started to do this "rawrrrr woooorrr worrroooo" thing that Roxy does as well while jumping around wagging his whooooole body.
We inquired as to if we could feed him and the expats said, probably shouldn't the dogs will fight over the food. But if we decide that we're going to, that we need to do it on the sly away from the house and while no other dogs are present. So last night it began. He got probably one pound of left over chicken tandoori that we made the night before
This morning he got more chicken (two legs and two wings, no bones), a cup of rice and two pancakes. Tonight he'll get the same thing and tomorrow before we leave we'll feed him our last bit that we can before leaving.
He's so sweet, but you can't pet him. I'm pretty sure he's got mange and he definitely is flea ridden. His ear has been torn up a bit but the eyes...I'm telling you, he's just the sweetest. He looks very sad and pathetic and while he is, I think he's also mastered the look, because we hear that he's always the visitors favorite. He's also the smallest of the beach strays, so I think he probably gets pushed around a bit.
For now he's ours, he sleeps on our porch and when we're not looking on the cushioned chair. ; ) As soon as he hears us approach though, he jumps down and sits and looks up at us like, nope, not me, wasn't me in that chair.
there is a movement here to help the strays, and we hear that things are 190% better than they were, but if you're interested in helping out....check out this site:
